Every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. We embrace this individuality from the moment a child joins our school. We recognize that every child learns differently and that a one-size-fits-all teaching approach would not meet every child's needs. We therefore use several innovative teaching approaches to nurture each child's strengths and potential while helping them develop into confident and responsible individuals.
Alongside academic learning, we place a strong emphasis on social development through a variety of school-based and off-site activities such as reading, yoga and breathwork, art and drama, outdoor experiences, and sports. We believe every child should find a happy place at school, whether that is in the classroom or on the playground. We provide our students with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where they can thrive both personally and academically.
FLOW OF THE DAY
A day at the Junction Micro School begins with thoughtfully designed morning breathwork and yoga. Students have an hour and a half of outdoor learning, exploration, and discovery. The day includes two one-hour academic blocks, along with two snack breaks and a relaxed lunch. Our schedule also allows ample time for creativity and hands-on learning, making school projects enjoyable, engaging and meaningful experiences.

Healthy eating habits are essential for balanced growth and development. At The Junction Micro School, we encourage children to develop a positive relationship with food and to understand the importance of making healthy choices.
The children participate in taking care of our healthy herb garden, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to learn where food comes from and to appreciate the value of fresh, wholesome ingredients.

Who Is Ms. Nishi?

Her twelve years of teaching experience have been shaped by the meaningful connections she has built with her students, relationships that she holds especially close to her heart.
In her words, "There is no greater joy than receiving that unexpected call from a student who is navigating beautifully through life and wants to share small and big victories, or seek advice or sometimes even share a joke!"
She taught fine art at the prestigious Welham Girls' School in India, one of the country's leading private schools. She moved to Canada in 2015 and, over the past decade has enriched her teaching practice with experiences ranging from Montessori pedagogy to nature-based learning. The Art Cart, a fine art school in Etobicoke, was her first independent venture. It provides art enthusiasts with a creative haven where they can explore and develop their artistic abilities under her guidance.

Ms Nishi has a very relaxed demeanour which the kids mirror throughout their day with her. My daughter was a student with Ms from SK through Grade 2, and we were beyond happy with the direction, passion and support Nishi showed in 3 years of being her dedicated teacher. Nishi would always find creative ways to teach the children inside and outside the classroom and she truly wants what is best for the children and forms a bond very quickly which continues to strengthen their time together.

The tuition includes all learning materials. After-school programs are available for an additional fee.
